Nigerian Lady Breaks Hertfordshire University Record, Graduates With 5.0 GPA

Nigerian Folafoluwa Oginni has become the best graduating student from the University of Hertfordshire after she finished her Law degree without getting a B throughout her program.

She recently graduated with a perfect score of 5.0 GP, setting a new record in the university and also becoming the first Nigerian Valedictorian in the school.

In 2013, 17-year old Folafoluwa (now 21) emerged the overall best pupil in the May/June 2012 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WAEC) after scoring the highest grade (Grade 1) in all her eight subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.

My Quest to Be ‘Cool’: Dealing With Low Self Esteem

I was born in Sekondi to a nurse and a farmer. At about 5 years, we moved to Komenda, a small town in the Central Region of Ghana. Even though I was one of the best students in primary school, I always felt ‘little’ when we travelled to cities like Cape Coast, Accra and Takoradi. I felt everyone there was more beautiful, more intelligent, spoke better English and was generally better than me.
