I was born in Sekondi to a nurse and a farmer. At about 5 years, we moved to Komenda, a small town in the Central Region of Ghana. Even though I was one of the best students in primary school, I always felt ‘little’ when we travelled to cities like Cape Coast, Accra and Takoradi. I felt everyone there was more beautiful, more intelligent, spoke better English and was generally better than me. I had a similar experience in secondary school, always looking down on myself and feeling I was not good enough. Oh how I wished I were an ‘Accra girl’ because I thought they were so cool! ATP Partners LHF, Brings Sunshine to Otodo-Gbame Internally Displaced Children

History was made on Saturday, 30 th September when over one thousand recently displaced children from Otodo-Gbame slums, in the Lekki-Ajah area of Lagos State were blessed with a special free medical outreach organized by Ask The Paediatrician Foundation in conjunction with Linking Hands Foundation. The event, which held at the expansive premises of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Resurrection Parish, Jakande, Lekki will, no doubt remain an experience to treasure, going by the outpour of love showered on the once traumatized and homeless children; all thanks to the organizers of the outreach, the generous donors that gave in cash and kind and the two hundred and fifty volunteers, comprising of both medical personnel and other professionals of repute, who served selflessly and passionately to ensure that all the children had a swell time.
