As Nigerian Women Honour HILARY CLINTON!

“Beauty, dignity, focus and determination! She ran a good race; the first woman to run for this tough job”, that was how Mrs. Yinka Ogunde, Principal Consultant/Managing Director at Edumark Consult cum Goals & Ideas described the great Amazon, Hilary Rodney Clinton, who many have come to admire as the most affable female champion of our time.
Ogunde recalled, “A few years ago I applied for a VITAL VOICES FELLOWSHIP FOR FEMALE ENTREPRENEURS IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES. My business was selected and thus began a full one year training program co-ordinated from their US office. Weekly tutorials, Harvard Managers program and loads of other things. The journey took those of us in Africa to Tanzania where we had very exciting sessions with various consultants…and mentoring on our businesses for three years. I did not need to pay a dime.
Vital Voices was set up to support women by Hilary Rodney Clinton. Today, I have friends in various African countries –Barbara Kasasa, Diana Nsereko, Patricia Karugaba Kyazze, Elizabeth Magaya etc, all through this amazing program.

A number of ladies here in Nigeria are also VVGROW Fellows and we will all be meeting tomorrow Sunday to celebrate this amazing woman and the giant leap she has made…running for the highest office in the land…”
Yinka Ogunde is not alone. Many other women in Nigeria and across the world have continued to pour encomiums on a woman who did not only dare to dream but also went headlong in the pursuit of her dream by contesting for the highest office of the President of the United States of America. Read some of their comments below as posted on Mrs. Ogunde’s facebook page: very exciting sessions with various consultants.... and monitoring of our businesses for three years....I did not need to pay a dime...

Fantastic woman, I broke down when I heard the result of the election last Wednesday. Now I know that Americans aren't ready for a female president. I loved her dogged determination. Never thought she'll not be in the white house.
Veronica Ufoegbune
She indeed fought a phenomenal fight and truly broke a glass ceiling!
She paved the way and has always fought for the PEOPLE!
Diana Nsereko
We are indeed very proud of Hillary and what she has been able to achieve. My business will forever be grateful for Vital Voices. The training and financial support has helped many of our businesses grow.
Funke Nwankwo
I salute her courage, dogged disposition, determination and will power. I guess Americans and all are just paying lip services to this equal opportunity thing, for male and female. It is well.

She is simply inspirational. There are no limitations to achieving that dream you have. Perhaps in some races the efforts count more than the crown.
Sola Tafa
I salute her courage and determination. She is an inspiration for women.

Elizabeth Magaya

Thank you madam for sharing a personal testimony of an encounter with the works of Hilary Clinton, who has been in public service all her life...She started as a lawyer, defending the rights of children...I admire her courage as a public servant indeed...

Women...Women...Women. Everytime I see women gather and they talk about women empowerment and feminist movement...I wonder when the women will really want it...Have you imagined if all the women or 80% of women in America had voted for HC? Will the story be the same today? If the women had seen this as an opportunity to make history...an opportunity to break the only excuse many countries have today not to have a female President...We say what we don't mean...So our actions do not match our words...How many of us women today will support a woman President in Nigeria?...Remember Sarah Jubril?...Even in her party she was not getting the women votes...How many of us will prefer to work under a woman in the corporate world today...We say we prefer a male boss...The problem is not actually the men...A nation...a state...a city...a county or local govt...an organisation...will be ready for a woman leader when the women in that community say so.

Dideolu Adekogbe
That was a brilliant step she took and has become history. Well done Hillary Clinton. You are the best

Hillary is a woman women should be proud of indeed. She dared...with incredible dignity and tenacity. Her daughter must be very proud as we are. Her losing the Presidency is really a loss for America. May it not be too painful a loss

Some of us are so proud of HC that we feel so bad and angry with women at this time...I have said it many times and even on this platform...some of us have crossed the level of rhethorics and talk...womeeeeeen, when are you going to stand up together. ...with one voice and use your mandate to vote women into empowerment?...Every day we claim women are more than men...So some people feel men can have as many as they want...If that is the case why can’t women continue to decide who rules in this country with their numbers?.
Ronke Adeniyi
God bless Hilary! I admire her.

There were some other respondents outside the box:

Morenike Omaiboje
The great America, the so-called Giants of Gender Equality do not seem to be ready after all. Cheers to all the ladies! We live to fight again!
Vweta Chadwick
If anything, Hilary may have tilled the ground for another woman to be planted and grow in some other time. Because she dared, it may be somewhat easier for the next woman.
